يدل البحر في المنام غالباً على سلطانٍ عظيم أو على الدنيا باتساعها وأهوالها، وقد يدل على العلم الغزير لمن كان من أهله. وتختلف دلالته بحسب هدوئه واضطرابه وما يفعله الرائي فيه. وهي دلالاتٌ لا أحكامٌ قاطعة، والعلم عند الله.

حالات رؤية البحر

• البحر الهادئ الصافي: سعةٌ في الحال وأمنٌ ورزقٌ وعلمٌ نافع.
• البحر العاصف ذو الأمواج: فتنٌ وأهوالٌ وشدائدُ تحتاج إلى صبرٍ وحذر.
• السباحة في البحر بثبات: خوضُ غمار الأمور والنجاح في معاملة ذي سلطان.
• الغرق فيه: انغماسٌ في همٍّ أو دنيا أو فتنةٍ تغمر صاحبها.
• الغوص في أعماقه: طلبُ رزقٍ أو علمٍ خفيٍّ بمشقّة، والخروج بلؤلؤٍ ظفرٌ ونفع.
• عبور البحر إلى برٍّ آمن: تجاوزُ شدةٍ والوصول إلى الأمان بعد تعب.
• شرب ماء البحر صافياً: مالٌ أو علمٌ من ذي سلطان؛ والمالح المؤذي همٌّ أو كسبٌ غير طيّب.

البحر والرزق

كثيراً ما يقترن البحر بالرزق الواسع، فمنه يُصاد السمك الذي يدل على الخير والمال، ويُقارب الماءَ الصافي في دلالة الحياة والعلم. وفيضان البحر على اليابسة قد يُحمل على السيل والفتنة بحسب القرائن.

• Drowning in it: being immersed in worry, worldliness, or an engulfing trial.
• Diving into its depths: seeking provision or hidden knowledge with toil; emerging with a pearl is success and benefit.
• Crossing the sea to safe land: overcoming hardship and reaching safety after struggle.
• Drinking clear seawater: wealth or knowledge from one in authority; harmful salty water is worry or unwholesome gain.

The sea and provision

The sea is often tied to wide provision — from it the fish of good and wealth is caught — and it is close to clear water in signifying life and knowledge. The sea overflowing onto land may be read as a flood and trial, by context.
